Bay Area Water Damage – (800) 576-3313

When most people hear the term water damage they instantly think natural disasters and flooding, but water damage can occur in hundreds of different ways. Some homes in the Bay Area receive water damage simply from the morning fog every day, others from a tiny bathroom leak, that collects a tiny amount of water each time you take a shower. But once mold spores find that spot, a mold colony can begin to grow and then the moisture begins to collect much faster. If not dealt with at this stage quickly, your headache will grow into a much bigger problem. Mold spores from that colony will travel through the air and spread all over your home finding any and every damp or moist spot and begin to grow, poisoning anyone that might be in that home. Skin rashes, headaches, nausea, diarrhea, asthma and even cancer are very common side affects of the mycotoxins of certain strands of mold.

Even when mildew spores don’t find their way into your home, water causes corrosion and eats away at all surfaces. It can begin to rot or if there is a stream, it will literally eat away and make its own little river, almost like cutting through the surface. The same concept as in the Great Canyon – it wasn’t always 5,000 feet deep, the Colorado river cut through the solid rock over thousands of years. Although your home is usually not made out of rock, plywood is a much more common material, and is also much weaker. Which is why water damage is one of those things that needs to be taken care of right away. The longer you wait, the more damage per day your home will receive from that water damage.
